Pak Sahafat – The head of the negotiating team sent by the National Salvation Government of Yemen to Amman, the capital of Jordan, expressed hope that this round of negotiations with the representatives of the resigned government regarding the exchange of prisoners will be successful.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, citing Arab media, a new round of negotiations between representatives of the National Salvation Government of Yemen and the resigned government of this country began on Friday in Amman, the capital of Jordan, under the supervision of the United Nations.

“Abd al-Qadir al-Mortaza,” the head of the delegation of the delegation of the National Salvation Government of Yemen to Jordan, said that the purpose of this round of negotiations on the case of prisoners is to find solutions to the obstacles and problems that prevented the implementation of the remainder of the former agreement.

On his Twitter account, he expressed hope that “this round of negotiations will be successful and fruitful like the previous one”.

Al-Mortaza previously said that the National Salvation Government is ready to reach a comprehensive agreement with the Saudi coalition and the representatives of the resigned government of Yemen supported by Riyadh for the release of all prisoners.

Meanwhile, a source in the resigned government of Yemen told China’s Xinhua News Agency: “During this round of negotiations, the fate of all prisoners and detainees on both sides will be discussed.”

The UN held the previous round of bilateral talks in March in Switzerland, based on which more than 800 prisoners and detainees were exchanged between the National Salvation government and the resigned government of Yemen.

On April 6, 2016, Saudi Arabia launched massive attacks against Yemen in the form of a coalition of several Arab countries under the pretext of returning the resigned government of Yemen to power, but these countries did not achieve their goals after 7 years and were forced to accept a ceasefire.
