Yemeni official: The new round of prisoner exchange negotiations will begin on Friday

Pak Sahafat – The head of the Committee on Prisoners Affairs of the National Salvation Government of Yemen said on Wednesday night that the new round of prisoner exchange negotiations with the Saudi coalition will begin on Friday.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Al-Masira report, “Abd al-Qadir al-Mortaza said: We will start the new round of negotiations from Friday in Amman, the capital of Jordan.”

The head of the prisoners’ affairs committee of the National Salvation Government of Yemen added: The purpose of these negotiations is to find a solution to the obstacles and problems that have prevented the implementation of the rest of the provisions of the previous agreement.

He had previously said that the national rescue government is ready to reach a comprehensive agreement with the Saudi coalition for the release of all prisoners.

At the end of May, Al-Mortaza announced the imminent holding of the second round of Swiss negotiations for the release of prisoners of war.

The parties involved in the negotiations on March 20 in Switzerland agreed to release 887 prisoners and meet again in May to discuss the release of more prisoners.
