The exchange of 1,400 prisoners is the subject of the next round of Yemeni negotiations

Pak Sahafat – After the end of the third phase of the exchange of prisoners between the conflicting parties, the head of the National Prisoner Affairs Committee of the National Salvation Government of Yemen announced the completion of the necessary preparations for the new round of negotiations for the exchange of 1,400 prisoners in May.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Sputnik news agency, “Abdul Qadir al-Mortaza” announced in this regard: A new agreement will be signed for the exchange of 700 prisoners in exchange for 700 prisoners from the other side (the resigned government of Yemen affiliated to Saudi Arabia) and the preparations for the negotiations in this regard are being completed in May.

Referring to the arrival of the third convoy of freed Yemeni prisoners in Sana’a and the completion of the agreement signed in Geneva, he said: We are happy to complete the implementation of this agreement during which dozens of people kidnapped by the aggressor coalition were released.

These statements were made after the third group of freed Yemeni prisoners entered Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen.

(Saturday), on the second day of the exchange of prisoners, 350 Yemeni prisoners arrived in Sana’a by five planes from Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s “Al Makha” province, and in return, Sana’a released 15 Saudi and Sudanese prisoners.

On the first day of this operation, on Friday, 250 prisoners of Yemen’s armed forces entered Sana’a airport.

The parties involved in negotiations last month in Geneva, Switzerland, agreed to release 887 prisoners in three phases, and the third phase ended today.
