Yemeni official: The demand of the Yemeni people is to stop the aggression and lift the blockade

Pak Sahafat – Mehdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, on Sunday night, in a meeting with a delegation from Oman, called for an end to aggression and a complete lifting of the blockade of this country by the Saudi coalition.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Al-Masira, Mehdi Al-Mashat met with a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman and discussed the latest developments related to the Yemen issue.

He praised Oman’s positive efforts to reduce the sufferings of the Yemeni people as well as efforts to establish peace.

The head of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen also emphasized the importance of establishing a just peace that guarantees the sovereignty and independence of the people of this country.

Al-Mashat said that establishing a ceasefire should lead to a tangible improvement in the economic and human conditions of the Yemeni people, including the payment of salaries to all employees and retirees.

Yemen: The continuation of the siege will hinder the extension of the ceasefire

He said that the demand of the Yemeni people is to stop the aggression and lift the blockade of the country, and the implementation of the provisions of the ceasefire, including the lifting of the general blockade of Sana’a International Airport and Hodeidah Port and the payment of employees’ salaries from oil and gas revenues, will create a positive atmosphere for peace.

The head of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen also emphasized the importance of taking confidence-building measures in accordance with the spirit of peace by the Saudi coalition led by the United States and said that their resort to the blockade, which is a war crime and against humanity, is completely contrary to the requirements of peace.

On Sunday, a delegation from Oman arrived in Sana’a to discuss and consult with the officials of the National Salvation Government of Yemen regarding the extension of the ceasefire established under the auspices of the United Nations.

Saudi Arabia, in the form of a coalition of several Arab countries, including the UAE, and with the help and green light of the United States and the support of the Zionist regime, started large-scale attacks against Yemen – the poorest Arab country – from April 6, 2017.

Contrary to the expectations of the Saudis, their attacks hit the strong shield of the resistance of the Yemeni nation, and after seven years of persistence and painful strikes by the Yemenis deep into Saudi lands, especially the Aramco facilities, Riyadh had to give in to a ceasefire in the hope of getting out of the Yemeni war swamp.

Since the Saudi war against Yemen in 2015, Oman preferred neutrality and non-participation in the Saudi-led Arab coalition against Yemen and even tried to open its borders and lands to all Yemenis without exception, including Ansarullah.
