Which parties are worried about Syria’s return to the Arab League?

Pak Sahafat – In a report, the “Global Times” news site has mentioned the lifting of the suspension of Syria’s membership in the Arab League and writes that this is exciting news after the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East region.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, while welcoming Syria’s return to the Arab League, China called this action in the interest of the Arab countries and the peace and stability of the region, and explained its role in the return of Damascus to this league.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a press conference on Monday: We believe that this issue is for the benefit of the strength and unity of the Arab countries, the development and revival of the Arab world, peace and stability in the Middle East and the long-term interests of the Arab countries. He emphasized that China has always wanted the unity of the Arab countries and actively supports the return of Syria to the Arab League.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that Beijing has interacted with various parties in this regard through its own channels.

Wang Wenbin said that China sent a team to the Arab countries to participate in the negotiations of Syria’s return to the Arab League. He pointed out that China, as a friend of Syria and other Arab countries, welcomes and supports Arab solidarity and tirelessly continues to try to realize this goal.

According to experts, lifting the suspension of Syria’s membership in the Arab League indicates the beginning of a right path towards a political solution to the Syrian crisis. Syria’s return to the Arab League after a 12-year suspension is considered a new peak of solidarity and development among Arab countries and provides the basis for establishing peace in the Middle East region.

Saudi Arabia welcomed the establishment of diplomatic relations with Syria and the return of Damascus to the Arab League

Many analyzes consider two main reasons for Syria’s return to the Arab League. First, the occurrence of a large earthquake that occurred in the beginning of April on the border between Turkey and Syria strengthened the steps taken by Arab countries to restore diplomatic relations with Syria. Second, Saudi Arabia and Iran, who were opposed to the Syrian crisis, achieved a historic reconciliation under the mediation of China, and this issue provided the necessary motivation for the decision of the Arab League regarding Syria.

Last month, the special envoy of the Chinese government on the issue of the Middle East visited Syria and expressed his views on trying to find a political solution to the Syrian issue and facilitate Syria’s return to the Arab League.

Syrian President Bashar Assad and China’s special envoy for the Middle East, Jai Jun, reviewed the relations between the two countries and Beijing’s role in the region.

In this meeting, Assad noted: The most important positive change in the world in recent years is the role of China, which is increasing in a calm and balanced state and is presenting a new model in politics, economy and culture, especially based on the principle of achieving stability.

During the last 12 years, Syria has gone through many problems. In 2011, the Syrian crisis began in the midst of the “Arab Spring”. At that time, the Arab League suspended Syria’s membership under pressure from the West. Little by little, the military and political interventions applied by foreign forces made the situation in Syria more complicated and the disastrous consequences of these issues have continued to this day.

Finally, the foreign ministers of the Arab countries (on the 7th of this month) in their extraordinary meeting agreed to return Syria to the Arab League. Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesman of the Secretary General of the Arab League, said that the Arab League decided to return Syria to its seat in the Arab League.

In November 2011, with the beginning of the crisis in this country, the Arab League suspended the membership of Damascus in this union and since then imposed political and economic sanctions against this country, a member of the anti-Zionist Islamic Resistance Front.
