Saudi Arabia welcomed the establishment of diplomatic relations with Syria and the return of Damascus to the Arab League

Pak Sahafat – In a joint press statement published at the end of Syrian President Faisal al-Maqdad’s visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia welcomed the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries and emphasized the return of Damascus to the Arab League.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoting from the Saudi Arabian News Agency (WAS), in this joint press release that was published on Wednesday night, it is stated: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the framework of its interest and attention to everything that serves the issues of the Arab nation and the development of the interests of its countries and nations, invited Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad to visit Saudi Arabia, and the Syrian Foreign Minister on the 21st of Ramadan, according to the invitation Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud visited this country.

The statement added: A meeting was held between the two sides in which the efforts made to reach a political solution to solve the Syrian crisis that would preserve the unity, security, stability, Arab identity and territorial integrity of Syria in a way that benefits the people of this country were discussed.

Both sides in the context of the importance of solving humanitarian problems, providing a suitable platform for aid to reach all areas of Syria, creating the necessary conditions for the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons to their areas and ending their suffering and creating grounds for their safe return to their country and taking measures that it would help stabilize the situation throughout Syria.

The two sides also discussed the necessary measures to achieve a comprehensive political solution to solve the Syrian crisis that ends all its consequences and achieve national peace and help Syria return to its Arab environment (Arab Union) and resume its natural role in the world.

According to this statement, the two sides also welcomed the start of operations to resume consular services and flights between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria appreciated the efforts made by Saudi Arabia to end the crisis in Syria and provide humanitarian aid and relief to the victims of the earthquake in this country.

According to the official Saudi news agency (WAS), Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad arrived in Jeddah on April 23 and met with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khariji.
