The reaction of Saudi activists to the Saudi contract with “Ronaldo”

Pak Sahafat – Some Saudi activists criticized the contract of Al-Nasr Club in this country with Ronaldo, emphasizing the shaky policies of Mohammed bin Salman and the problems of the Saudi nation.

According to the report of the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, the joining of the Portuguese soccer player “Cristiano Ronaldo” to the Saudi Arabian Al-Nasr Club led to the anger of many Saudi activists and users.

In this regard, Turki Al-Shalhoub wrote on his Twitter: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spends millions of dollars on a contract with Ronaldo to improve his image, while citizens in Jeddah are drowning in destruction and floods.

Another Saudi activist, Abu Al-Jawaz al-Mataimiri, also wrote: After the completion of Qatar World Cup 2022, the name of Qatar became famous in the world. This led to the jealousy of Mohammed bin Salman about Qatar. In this way, he paid the amount of Ronaldo joining Nasr to this club. But Bin Salman will definitely fail in improving his image.

Meanwhile, Abdul Malik Al-Ajri, a member of the National Negotiating Board of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, tweeted: You can buy Ronaldo. Take al-Alimi for free. But Yemen and its land, its islands and its waters cannot be sold; Even if fire flares up from the ground and bullets rain down from the sky.

The European-Saudi Human Rights Organization also announced that this contract with Ronaldo is the biggest step taken by Saudi Arabia in the approach of washing sports, which Saudi Arabia has tried hard to improve its image in recent years. The list of human rights violators is made under the leadership of Mohammed bin Salman.

Ronaldo joins Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on two-year deal

Cristiano Ronaldo signed a two-and-a-half-year contract as a free agent with Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia, while various media have stated that the Portuguese superstar’s salary in this Saudi team is 200 million euros per season.

Saudi Arabia’s astronomical contract with Ronaldo took place while the Saudi people are suffering from the unprecedented oppression of Al Saud in various fields. This is while in the shadow of the silence of the official domestic circles of Saudi Arabia, statistics and international reports can show the complicated economic situation of the common people of this country to some extent.

Mohammed bin Salman wants to improve the image of Riyadh at the global level and thus uses sports events in Saudi Arabia and sports as a tool for this purpose.

For a long time, football had an obscure presence in Saudi sports policies. But in recent years, we have seen changes in football. According to Mohammed bin Salman, football is not just a sport, but a tool to increase Saudi Arabia’s influence on the international stage.

Using sports to improve image and credibility is an essential element for Riyadh as they aim to distract from the ongoing human rights abuses, mistreatment of women, intolerance of political opponents and brutal punishments. However, in March of this year, 81 people, most of whom were from the Shia minority and were subjected to widespread persecution, were killed in mass executions.

According to the report of human rights organizations in 2022, Mohammed bin Salman was responsible for the painful reality of human rights violations in Saudi Arabia. In the past years, he has shown extreme hostility towards the simplest principles of human rights. The amount of repression in Saudi Arabia increased in 2022 due to the rule of Mohammed bin Salman. This country has carried out the biggest mass execution and dozens of people are waiting for execution. Some of them are teenagers and some of them do not have serious charges.

A large number of human rights defenders and activists are also in detention centers. The amount of oppression against women and violation of freedom of speech has also increased and people are expelled from their homes and hometowns. The increasing complexity of international political relations and the game of interests have provided a good ground for Mohammed bin Salman to increase his oppression and this issue shows that the year 2023 will be much worse.
