Return of Bangladeshi women workers from Saudi Arabia in deplorable condition

A Bangladeshi NGO has condemned the plight of Bangladeshi women workers in Saudi Arabia and called for an end to the situation.

According to Al-Waqi Al-Saudi, an NGO in Bangladesh condemned the return of Bangladeshi women  from a deplorable situation in Saudi Arabia, saying it was a violation of human rights.

Manushir Juno in Dhaka has called on the Bangladeshi embassy to take action to bring to justice Bangladeshi women who are being abused in Saudi Arabia.

The NGO, a non-profit organization, stressed that the return of Bangladeshi female workers one by one from Saudi Arabia after suffering physical and psychological harassment in Bangladesh was “extremely worrying and unfortunate.”

The statement added that the incidents were a “grave violation” of the human rights of migrant women workers in Saudi Arabia.

“Shahin Enam” the executive director of this organization said: The government should address the remittances that Bangladeshi women workers send to the country’s economy and prioritize their lives, livelihoods, dignity and security, as well as severe punishments for those involved in these criminal acts.

Enem also added that the Bangladeshi embassy should take legal action to find the names of the  of migrant women workers and to provide compensation to the abused women.
