Pak Sahafat – Expressing his satisfaction with the recent developments in the Persian Gulf, the spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said: Islamabad welcomes efforts to normalize relations between its friendly countries, including Iran and Egypt.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, during his weekly news conference in Islamabad, Mrs. “Mommataz Zahra” called the recent developments in the Middle East, especially the Arab League summit in Jeddah, reassuring.
He said that Pakistan welcomes any efforts to normalize relations between friendly and brotherly countries in the region, especially between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Egypt.
Emphasizing the importance of normalizing Tehran-Riyadh relations, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan added that advancing peace efforts and resuming relations between regional countries will be an opportunity for Pakistan to closely participate in regional prosperity, development and peace.

Saudi newspaper: Iran and Egypt have established direct contacts
The National Newspaper of the Emirates wrote that Iran and Egypt are expected to exchange ambassadors in the coming months. This English-language newspaper quoted Egyptian officials as saying that the exchange of ambassadors between the two countries is part of Oman’s mediation efforts to normalize relations between the two regional powers.
Two Egyptian officials told National that an agreement has been reached in principle regarding the meeting between Iran’s President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
According to this report, it is likely that this meeting will take place at the end of this year.
Last week, during an exclusive interview in Islamabad, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, referring to the developments in West Asia, especially the official start of diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, said: We use this interview opportunity and congratulate the governments of Iran and Saudi Arabia on the resumption of diplomatic relations.
He emphasized: This important achievement is a testimony to the vision and foresight of the wise leaders of Iran and Saudi Arabia and the valuable role of China. We are confident that this important development will serve as a harbinger of regional peace, security and prosperity.
