Stephen Hitchen, for his part, expressing his satisfaction with the work in Baghdad, expressed his desire to increase the level of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

“Al-Hol” camp is named after a city near the border of Iraq and Syria, and it is the place of residence of people who were transferred and settled there after the defeat of ISIS.

The central government of Iraq has intensified its consultations during the past week and has made decisions regarding the al-Hol camp located in Syria and 20 kilometers from the “Sinjar” region in the northwest of Iraq.

The Iraqi government considers the al-Hol camp as a threat to the country’s national security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq has asked different countries to remove their nationals from the Al-Hol camp so that it can be completely dismantled.

This is after the warning of some international and domestic officials about the dangerousness of this camp, which contains thousands of ISIS families, along with thousands of Iraqi refugees living in the camp since 1991.

Currently, the camp accommodates 48,000 people, more than half of whom are Iraqis, and there are approximately 5,000 tents and mud houses in the camp. The residents of this camp, which is under the supervision of the SDF (militia affiliated to the United States), receive food and financial aid, as well as health and educational aid from some international organizations.

In this camp, there are more than eight thousand foreigners who are in their special section in the camp and near the place of residence of Iraqis and are in contact with them and influence them. “QSD” complains about the Iraqi authorities’ strategy towards the camp and their lack of responsibility in this case, and considers it in order to maintain its relations with Syria and Turkey!
