Bahrain refused to condemn the repression of the Palestinians

The representative of the government of Bahrain did not appear at the UN Human Rights Council to condemn the violation of Palestinian rights by the Zionist regime.

For the first time in the Arab world, the representative of the Bahraini government refused to vote in favor of a UN Human Rights Council resolution (based in Geneva) condemning the actions of the Zionist regime in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

According to the Al-Mayadin website, Bahrain did not attend the council’s voting session. In the resolution, the UN Human Rights Council called on the UNHCR to report on human rights abuses in the occupied territories. This position of Bahrain has angered the Palestinians. Especially since many European countries have voted in favor of this resolution.

Bahrain is the first Arab country to withdraw from the consensus on condemning the Zionist regime’s actions against the Palestinians. However, the UN Human Rights Council resolution passed with 32 votes in favor from 47 members.
