Pak Sahafat – The head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces claimed in an interview that the country’s army will never withdraw from Middle East.
According to the report of the Pak Sahafat International News Agency, “Mark Milley”, the head of the Joint Staff of the US Armed Forces, who is currently in Jordan, told the country’s Al-Mamlaka channel that Jordan is one of Washington’s closest allies in West Asia.
He said in this interview: “Jordan is one of the best friends of the United States in the Middle East and the military relations between Jordan and the United States are very strong; The Jordanian armed forces are professional and competent, and the American army provides training and consulting services as well as military equipment to the Jordanian armed forces.
On Wednesday, Mark Milley visited Amman, the capital of Jordan, and met and talked with Abdullah II, the king of this country. He entered Jordan while he had met with Israel’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, Herzi Hiloi, in occupied Jerusalem a day before.
However, in the continuation of the interview, this top American military official answered the host’s question and said: “The Middle East is very important for America, and it is impossible to imagine that America will leave the region, this will never happen.”
According to Mark Milley, the number of American forces in West Asia will increase or decrease depending on the “volume of the threat”. Then, like other American officials, he announced terrorism and ISIS as an excuse for military presence in Iraq and Syria and said: “Despite the end of the caliphate, ISIS and its ideology have not yet disappeared, and there are still some terrorists who roam the Syrian Desert and to some extent in Iraq, and this is a threat to Jordan.”

He added: “If the American army withdraws from the region at once, the terrorists will recover and become empowered.”
The words of this American military official are about the increase of ISIS activity in Syria, while many Russian and Syrian military and security sources believe that the United States is equipping and training ISIS in the central and eastern deserts of Syria.
ISIS has carried out several bloody attacks against Syrian army forces during the last month, in one case on August 20, a bus carrying Syrian army soldiers was ambushed by ISIS and 32 Syrian soldiers were killed.
Regarding the continued presence of US military forces in Syria, Mark Milley said: “The size of US forces in Syria is small, and the withdrawal of US forces from Syria is a political decision that must be made by the political leadership.”
He emphasized once again that America is present in Syria to fight ISIS and in response to recent reports; he said that the American army does not intend to increase its forces in Syria.
The claim of this American official in the fight against ISIS, while Donald Trump, the former president of this country, on September 20, 2020, clearly said in an election rally that the purpose of the military presence in Syria is to obtain the country’s oil.
In the other part of his interview, Mark Milli addressed the issue of Iran and said his usual statements that America will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear bomb.
Regarding the war in Ukraine, he also said that F-16 fighters will be delivered to Ukraine in the not-so-distant future, and the delivery of long-range ATACMS missiles is also under consideration.
