Pakistan is deeply concerned about human rights violations in the occupied territories

Expressing deep concern over the escalation of human rights violations in the occupied territories by the Zionist occupation forces, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman said: “The determination and courage of the Palestinian people will not be shaken by the crimes of Israel.”

Speaking at a virtual meeting of the Institute for Political Studies in Islamabad on Thursday, on the eve of International Quds Day, Zahid Hafiz Chaudhry stressed the commitment of the government and people of Pakistan to resolutely support Palestine.

Webinar of the Institute of Political Studies of Islamabad, entitled “The Dynamics of the Islamic World and the Future of Palestine: “Time of Reciprocal Struggle” was held on the eve of World Al-Quds Day, with the aim of examining the positions and views of the Pakistani government on resolving the Palestinian issue.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman said: Palestine is at the heart of every Pakistani and is a foreign policy priority of the Islamabad government. Our firm support for Palestine dates back to the founding of Pakistan.

He recalled Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people’s struggle, the recognition of the Palestinian Authority in 1988, its support for the UN General Assembly resolution granting observer membership to Palestine in 2012, and its support for UN and OIC resolutions to resolve the Palestinian question, Added: Our support for the oppressed nations will continue unabated.

Zahid Hafiz Chaudhry explained the reasons for the importance of Palestine for Pakistan and said: The issue of Palestine is one of the most important issues in the Islamic world, which has also led to the establishment of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Islamabad has a principled position on the right of the people to self-determination.

He also considered the issue of Palestine important from the point of view of human rights and stated: Pakistan has always acknowledged the need to protect the fundamental rights of the people in the Occupied Palestinian Territories or elsewhere. In this regard, we are deeply concerned about the grave human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman said: The Palestinian people have been suffering from these violations for more than seven decades now, and it is unfortunate that we are still witnessing an increase in the violations of the rights of the Palestinian people during the holy month of Ramadan.

He added: However, the crimes of the Israeli occupation forces will never undermine the courage of the Palestinian people or shake their resolve.
