Leading political and religious parties in Pakistan have called the establishment of relations with the Tel Aviv regime a clear betrayal of the Islamic world and stressed that a new regional bloc should be formed with the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan to help resolve the Palestinian issue.
According to IRNA on Thursday, a joint conference of Pakistani political and religious parties entitled “Normalization of relations with Israel, betrayal of the Muslim Ummah” was held by the Foundation for the Support of Palestine at the Karachi Journalists’ Club.
The seminar held on the eve of World Quds Day and was attended by representatives and senior officials from the Tehreek-e-Insaf (Pakistan ruling party), Muslim League Nawaz, People’s Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, United Ethnic Party, Jamiat Ulema of Pakistan and the House of Muslim Unity Party.
Pakistani political leaders pledged their full support for the Palestinian people, defended the resistance against the occupying regime in Jerusalem and opposed any normalization of relations with Israel, and said: Tel Aviv compromisers have betrayed Islamic nations, including defenseless Palestinians.
According to them, resolving the Palestinian issue requires a regional consensus and a coherent approach of the supporters of the liberation of Jerusalem, and for this purpose a new bloc should be formed in the region with the presence of Iran and Pakistan, including Malaysia and Turkey.
Senator Taj Haidar of the Pakistan People’s Party called the Washington-Tel Aviv partnership a threat to world peace and security, adding: Muslims must unite to liberate Jerusalem and save the Palestinian people from the clutches of the occupiers.
Ferdows Shamim, a member of the State Assembly from the Tehreek-e-Insaf Pakistan (ruling party), also said: May the Islamic nations are strong in order to be able to take a strong position in the region and the world against the Zionist regime and to defend the freedom of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Baqir Abbas Zaidi, secretary general of the Muslim Unity Assembly party in Pakistan’s Sindh province stating Israel is the real enemy of humanity, said: Negotiations are not the solution to the Palestinian question, but the continuation of the resistance and the Tel Aviv Occupation Front is the only way that works.
At the end of the Quds Conference, Saber Abu Maryam, Secretary General of the Foundation for the Support of Palestine in Pakistan, read out a joint resolution of the parties present, according to which the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan will be celebrated throughout Pakistan.
He added: The Palestinian territories belong entirely to the people of this country, but in contrast to Israel, it is an occupying, fake and expansionist regime.
In the joint resolution, representatives of Pakistani parties called on the Islamabad government to form a regional coalition with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Russia and China to resolve the Palestinian issue.
