Emirates between the duality of East and West

Pak Sahafat – The Persian Gulf think tank wrote in a report that the United Arab Emirates has traditionally been in the US camp over the past years, but giving space to Russia and cooperation with China has caused the level of trust between Abu Dhabi and Washington to decrease and the US to focus on the illegal activities of the UAE lobby in Washington.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Wednesday, the Persian Gulf think tank has stated in a report on its website: Since the formation of the UAE in 1971, the relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States have been characterized by absolute dependence. Although the UAE was supported by the British, but with the dominance of America, the UAE sought to consolidate its relations with this country politically, militarily and economically on a large scale.

With the second generation of UAE rulers taking power, the leaders of this generation took a view contrary to the view of their founding generation to use oil reserves to influence the decision-making centers of the United States for their own benefit.

The issue of the Emirates lobby in America came up in 2008 and this lobby was able to operate away from the eyes for some time and during that time it managed to gain a lot of influence. The UAE lobby was able to play an important and influential role in the United States ignoring the illegal and illegitimate actions of the UAE and its military interventions in many countries of the world and even inside the United States.

But in the recent period, with the appearance of points of difference between the political positions between Abu Dhabi and Washington, careful observation and identification and disclosure about the illegal actions of the UAE lobby in the United States have begun. As it seems, due to the disclosure of many illegal actions of the UAE towards the United States as its biggest ally in the recent period, the activity of this lobby has become difficult.

It seems that the strategic interests of Washington and the policies of the UAE are moving towards tension, and considering the relative success of the Democrats in the recent elections, this situation may continue for a long time. Dubai has become a place to circumvent Russian sanctions, and Abu Dhabi’s growing cooperation with China has become a major threat to American interests. In addition, the UAE’s recent statement in support of OPEC production cuts left no doubt that this is not in the interest of American policy.

Certainly, there is a fundamental lack of trust between the UAE and the United States, and this will definitely affect the UAE’s lobbying activities at the current stage. It is expected that the pressures and scrutiny of the illegal operation of the Emirates lobby in America will continue due to Abu Dhabi giving space to Russia and cooperation with China.
