Zelensky considered helping to continue the war in Ukraine as supporting democracy

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from CNN on Thursday, Volodymyr Zelensky, who has traveled to this country for the first time after the war in Ukraine and with the hope of strengthening the defense power of Ukraine with the continued support of the Americans for the war, spoke to them a few hours ago in a meeting with members of the Congress consisting of representatives and senators.

At the beginning of his speech, he said that Ukraine is still standing firm in this war and will not back down, and thanked the Americans and all those who have supported Kiev during the 10 months since the start of the war.

Zelenskiy continued his remarks by referring to the common values ​​of Ukraine and America and stressed that the world is so interconnected that countries cannot ignore this war.

According to this report, the President of Ukraine then raised the issue of Ukraine’s insufficient defense and military power against Russia and said: Yes, we have ammunition, we thank you for that. But is this ammunition enough? To be honest, no.

The president of Ukraine also once again repeated the claim of cooperation between Iran and Russia and Moscow’s use of Iranian drones in attacking the country’s energy facilities, and asked the Congress to support Ukraine to resist these attacks.

Zelensky’s other request was to support and intensify sanctions against Russia.

In the final part of these statements, he presented a flag signed by Ukrainian soldiers to the Congress as a gift and thanks for the American weapons.

Earlier, Zelenskiy had a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden about ways Washington can continue to support Ukraine.
