Yemen; The trial of the perpetrators of the assassination of the martyr “Saleh Al-Samad” has been postponed

The Al-Hudaidah Provincial Court of Appeals announced that the next hearing of the perpetrators of the assassination of the former chairman of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council has been postponed.

The Court of Appeals of Al-Hudaidah Governorate in Yemen held the ninth trial of the perpetrators of the assassination of the former head of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, Saleh Al-Samad, and his entourage.

The Yemeni Saba news agency reported that the hearing was chaired by Judge Abdul Hafiz al-Mahbashi, and that the court issued a memorandum containing a response to a request for a review of the detainees’ lawyers.

The lawyers of the parents also responded to the lawyers’ request for a review.

The court adjourned the next hearing at the request of the defendants’ lawyers. They intend to be able to respond to the notes of the court and the parents and present their intuition and evidence.

On August 24 last year, the Al-Hudaidah Criminal Court sentenced 16 defendants to death in retaliation for the assassination of Martyr Al-Samad.

Last September, the Al-Hudaidah Specialized Criminal Court announced the verdict in the case of the assassination of Martyr Al-Samad, and sixteen people were accused of participating in the assassination of Martyr Saleh Al-Samad and his companions.

People accused of the crime of assassinating Martyr Al-Samad: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, resigned Yemeni Prime Minister Abd al-Mansour Hadi, Ali Mohsen Saleh al-Ahmar, Ahmad Obaid bin Daghar, Mohammed Ali al-Muqdashi “Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh”, “Ali Ali Ibrahim Al-Qozi”, “Abdul Malik Ahmad Mohammad Hamid”, “Mohammad Khalid Ali Hijj”, “Mohammad Ibrahim Ali Al-Qozi”, “Mohammad Yahya Muhammad Nuh”, “Ibrahim Mohammad Abdullah Aqil”, “Mohammad Mohammad Ali Al-Mashkhari”, “Abdul Aziz Ali Mohammad Al-Aswad” and “Mu’adh Abdul Rahman Abdullah Abbas”.

The Yemeni Supreme Political Council is currently the country’s highest governing body based in Sanaa, which was established on August 27, 1995. This council has 11 members and was chaired by Al-Samad until April 20, 1997, and since then “Mahdi Al-Mashat” has been in charge of it.
