Why is Netanyahu afraid of the fall of Naftali Bennett’s shaky cabinet?

Although Netanyahu knows the next election is his last chance, he has not yet prepared for it because he will lose his supporters forever if he fails to form a cabinet again.

Pak Sahafat News Agency, International Group: The Times of Israel’s report examines the shaky cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and the feasibility study of dissolving the Knesset (Israeli parliament) by the spectrum of opposition led by former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Referred to;

Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu has not yet made a decision to dissolve the Knesset next week and is seeking a satellite party between members of the Likud party and the Amicha Chikli (Yamina) party.

So far, no one among the members of the Likud party knows whether the bill to dissolve the Knesset will be presented to the public by the opposition next Wednesday; A move that will bring the regime closer to a new round of elections.

Speculation and assessments about the vote are constantly changing, and the final decision will depend on opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud faction leader Yariy Levin.

Contrary to Netanyahu’s statements in party meetings and in front of the camera, the general assessment is that he does not want the Knesset to be dissolved because the former regime’s prime minister has realized that, as in previous times, he was unable to form a cabinet.

According to an informed source close to Netanyahu, the former prime minister of the regime knows that the upcoming elections are his last chance. If he fails to form a cabinet again because of all the ups and downs of the past, no one from the Likud party will accompany him.

Netanyahu hoped to form a cabinet in the current parliament; this was an ideal for him, but he quickly realized that this ideal would not be realized, despite the presence of people like Justice Minister Gaddon Saer and the like in the coalition.

Of course, according to the source, Netanyahu’s ongoing trial as leader of the opposition over corruption will play a key role in his considerations, and Netanyahu is constantly thinking about and worrying about his place in the regime’s history.

The former prime minister is considering forming a so-called satellite party; A party that can turn the votes of hesitant people towards Likud. In this case, after the election, when it comes time to form a coalition, his party will be able to win the 61 seats needed for decision-making.

Chickley, who was elected to the Knesset by the Yamina party, split from the party immediately after the 2021 election and repeatedly voted against it until he was expelled in April. Chickley’s interests are now strangely aligned with those of Netanyahu, and neither of them wants to dissolve the Knesset and hold early elections.

Even if the Likud party decides to dissolve the Knesset, there is no guarantee that the opposition will get the required majority of votes to pass the bill. It is also unclear whether Nair Auerbach and the Arab-dominated opposition parties will support the dissolution of the Knesset.
