US intelligence officials worry about possible consequences of Sardar Soleimani’s assassination

Pak Sahafat: Newsweek, in a report referring to the second anniversary of the assassination of Sardar Soleimani by the United States, has expressed the concern of US intelligence officials about the consequences of this assassination, which was carried out on the direct orders of Donald Trump.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Two years after the assassination of Sardar Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, the US Secret Service continues to track and retaliate against retaliatory messages against former US President Donald Trump who ordered the assassination.

US Secret Service spokesman Justin Whelan told Newsweek: The US Secret Service takes all threats against protected individuals seriously. However, according to the protocols of this institution, Whelan did not provide details about the process carried out to investigate possible threats.

Newsweek went on to write: While since the airstrikes on January 3, 2020, which led to the assassination of Sardar Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Quds Force, along with the second commander of the popular uprising, there have been clear messages of revenge for the former US president and senior government officials.

According to Newsweek, some of these messages came in the form of public speeches, such as when Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi recently called for a “trial of Trump and retribution” against him and figures close to him, such as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Newsweek wrote: Tensions between Washington and Tehran, which have escalated under the Trump administration, have continued to weigh on the Biden administration. In fact, the assassination of Sardar Soleimani followed a series of escalating tensions that began with Trump’s decision in 2018 to abandon the nuclear deal between Iran and the major powers; an agreement that current US officials are struggling to return to today.

In a recent meeting with the family and headquarters of Martyr Soleimani, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, again referred to the issue of retaliation against the killers of Martyr Soleimani and said: “Martyr Soleimani is eternal, he is alive forever; Those who martyred him – Trump and his ilk – are in the dustbin of history and will be among the forgotten of history in the dustbin, but he is alive forever; The martyr is like this and his enemies will be lost and buried. Of course, God willing, they will be lost and buried after they pay the price for their worldliness.
