US Commerce Secretary: My meeting with Chinese officials was fruitful

Pak Sahafat – The US Secretary of Commerce said on Thursday (local time) that her visit to China and meeting with the officials of this country was fruitful.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from Russia’s Sputnik news agency, American Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told the American media: America has no interest in restraining China or restraining its people, but above all, we have interests in maintaining our national security, and we know that China’s military integration strategy is very worrying.

The US Secretary of Commerce stated: Our goal is to have a level playing field so that our companies and workers can compete, and this was my message during my trip to China, and I think it was well received.

She added that during his visit to Beijing, he warned Chinese leaders that American companies may withdraw from investing in the country if Beijing does not take swift action to address their complaints about worsening conditions caused by attacks on companies, unjustified fines and unpredictable official behavior.

The American Commerce Minister also said that during her visit to China, she raised the issue of the country’s refusal to buy American airplanes from Boeing as one of the important issues.

She added: “We definitely want the Chinese government to receive at least the planes they ordered, and as you know, Boeing makes the best planes in the world, and China has a great demand for our planes, and we hope that they will continue with these purchases.”

Raimondo also clarified that the issue of Taiwan was not raised in her talks with Chinese officials and that her meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other officials was very fruitful and she did not make any criticism during her speech.

US Commerce Secretary Raimondo had traveled to Beijing, the capital of China, to expand bilateral relations.

The US Secretary of Commerce also said that Joe Biden’s administration supports the economic development and promotion of the welfare of the Chinese people and has no intention to prevent the development of this country and does not seek to separate from China.
