United Nations: Displacing Palestinians from Jerusalem is a war crime

Pak Sahafat – The United Nations Human Rights Office in the Occupied Territories reacted to the recent crime of the Zionist regime in occupying a Palestinian family’s house in the east of the occupied city of Quds and handing it over to a Zionist family, and considered the displacement of Palestinians from this city a war crime.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Wednesday, quoting Palestine Ilyum, The United Nations Human Rights Office in the Occupied Territories emphasized in a statement that the forced evacuation of the home of an elderly Palestinian couple who have been living in it since 1953 is an indication of the forced evacuation and migration operation by the Zionist regime, which has more than a thousand Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem.

Ajit Sanghai, the director of the United Nations Office in the Occupied Territories, noted that the efforts of the Zionist regime to expel Palestinians from their homes in the occupied Jerusalem is at the level of forced displacement and is a clear violation of the Geneva Agreements and is considered a war crime.

He said that the expulsion of Nora Ghaith (68 years old) and Mustafa Sab Laban (72 years old) from their house was done following the ruling of the Zionist regime’s court to terminate their lease, and this issue provides the ground for the Zionist Organization of Galicia to take control of it; An organization that tried to expel this family from their home since 2010.

The director of the UN office emphasized that international human rights law prohibits the Zionist regime from imposing its own special laws in the occupied territories, including the laws of expelling Palestinians from their homes.

In this statement, it is stated that the laws of the Zionist regime applied against the Palestinians are discriminatory and are a clear violation of human rights laws by the Zionist regime.

Stating that the evacuation of this Palestinian family’s house is in line with the implementation of the decisions of the Zionist regime’s courts and is a violation of human rights laws, he said: The Zionist regime must cancel these laws; Laws that facilitated the evacuation process of Nora Ghaith and Mustafa Sab Laban.

The director of the UN office said that the forced evacuation operation is not only a clear violation of human rights laws, but also leads to the creation of a pervasive repressive atmosphere and creates fear and insecurity for these families for months, years and decades.

Referring to the 45-year-old resistance and lawsuit of this Palestinian family against the Zionist regime, he emphasized that the international laws require the Zionist regime to end the evacuation and forced migration operations.

Yesterday morning, the Zionist occupying forces occupied the house of the “Sab Laban” family located in the Aqaba Khalidiyah area in the old occupied Quds area and handed it over to the Zionist settlers.

The Zionists forced this Palestinian family to leave their home and arrested a number of Palestinians who defended them.

Noura Sab Lin, a Palestinian woman whose house was occupied by the Zionists, shouted in front of the Zionists that the land and soil of Palestine is ours and we will never leave it, and you are the occupiers and the Zionists who are in decline and destruction and oppression will not last.
