United Nations: Banning women’s education harms all Afghan people

Pak Sahafat – In a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education of the interim government of the Taliban, the deputy of the UN Deputy Mission in Afghanistan discussed the prohibition of women’s education and work.

According to the Pak Sahafat news agency, in a meeting with Nada Mohammad Nadim, the Minister of Higher Education of the interim government of the Taliban, “Marcus Potzel”, the deputy of the UN Deputy Mission in Afghanistan, stated that the ban on women’s education and their work in charitable institutions harms all the people of Afghanistan, and demanded the immediate cancellation of these bans.

According to the announcement published by the Ministry of Higher Education of the interim government of the Taliban, Nadim also said in this meeting that the ruling body of Afghanistan is not absolutely against the education of women, but it is trying to remove the prohibitions in the light of Islamic Sharia.

Stating that Afghanistan’s “independent Islamic system” was achieved with the sacrifices of the people of this country, he said: “Our rivals criticize the implementation of Islamic principles and want to use the issue of education to achieve their evil goals.”

Nadim added: We must ensure that there is no place for these people to criticize, and at the same time, we must fulfill the wishes of Afghans who have sacrificed for Islamic laws and its implementation.

The Minister of Higher Education of the interim government of the Taliban also stated that the ruling body of Afghanistan will not accept anyone’s requests in the form of pressure against Islamic principles.
