UN unveils efforts to suspend Israel’s membership in African Union

The Special Envoy of the International Commission on Human Rights to the United Nations emphasized: The suspension of Israel’s membership in the African Union was the result of the ongoing efforts of the International Committee of Human Rights.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, In an interview with Russia’s Sputnik news agency, Haitham Abu Saeed, Special Envoy of the International Council and the International Commission on Human Rights to the United Nations, said: The African Union’s decision to suspend Israel’s membership as an observer was the result of the ongoing efforts and follow-up of the International Human Rights Committee and was adopted by Mohammad Shahed Amin Khan, Chairman of the International Commission on Human Rights.

The Special Envoy of the International Commission on Human Rights to the United Nations said: Algeria is at the top of the Group of Seven countries, which eventually led to the reversal of the individual decision of the head of the African Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Musa Faqi, to grant observer membership to Israel.

He added: The call should not be permanent, and efforts to reach the alternatives that Israel is working on at various economic, social and political levels should continue, especially as Israel fills that position in the African Organization before African officials move to transform it into an African Union in the year 2002.

African Union leaders have suspended the decision to grant observer membership to the Zionist regime, and a committee of seven heads of state, including Algeria, has been formed.
