The third person in the Turkish presidential election: the voting system reduced our votes

Pak Sahafat – Sinan Oghan, the candidate of the Ata coalition, said that Turkey’s voting system was the reason for our decrease in voting.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Qatar’s “Al Jazeera” network, Oghan added: We expected more votes, but the voting system used in Turkey reduced our votes.

Oghan’s words are expressed while the counting of votes in the Turkish presidential election reached 97.77 percent. Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan’s votes with a slight decrease to 49.34 votes, his main rival; Kamal Kilicdaroglu reached 44.98% with a slight increase and Oghan’s votes decreased to 5.24%.

In Sunday’s elections, 60 million 697 thousand 843 voters were eligible to vote in Turkey, of which 4 million 904 thousand 672 went to the polls for the first time.

Turkey’s presidential term is five years, and according to the constitutional amendment that was approved in 2017, the president is the highest executive officer and the head of government and has full authority in choosing ministers and government officials.
