The resumption of conflicts in the capital of Sudan

Pak Sahafat – Qatar’s Al Jazeera channel announced the resumption of clashes between two rival groups in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Al Jazeera news channel announced on Thursday, quoting its correspondent in Sudan Following the conflict between the army forces and the rapid support forces in the areas near the main oil and gas reservoirs in the south of Khartoum, flames have spread for the second time in different places in this area.

In this regard, Al Jazeera has also mentioned conflicting news about the control of one of the two sides of the army or the rapid support force over the Yarmouk weapons factory in the south of the capital.

Due to the proximity of large oil reservoirs, these conflicts have created concerns about the spread of fires and disruptions in the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people, and relevant international organizations have warned about the worsening of the humanitarian situation in Sudan.

Eyewitnesses had earlier told Reuters that they had seen a large fire near fuel depots in Jabra district, south of Khartoum. Some published video clips also show flames and smoke rising from this area.

The army and rapid support forces have been fighting since Tuesday evening to take control of the Yarmouk weapons factory and nearby fuel depots. A well-informed source in the Sudanese army told Al Jazeera that its forces repelled an attack by Rapid Support Forces on the Yarmouk factory on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, the Rapid Support Forces have accused the army of continuing the indiscriminate aerial and artillery bombardment of populated areas and public facilities.

Armed conflicts continue in Khartoum, while according to Al Jazeera, similar conflicts continue in the Darfur region, and its intensity is so severe that it has disrupted the receipt of humanitarian aid.

Since April 15, Sudan has witnessed a conflict between the army of this country under the command of Abdul Fattah al-Barhan and the rapid support forces under the command of Muhammad Hamdan Daghlo (Hamidati), including in the capital Khartoum and other cities in the north and west of the country.

So far, a ceasefire has been announced in Sudan several times, but the conflicting parties continue to violate it.

The recent conflicts in Sudan have left more than 1,800 dead, and the United Nations has announced that more than one million people have been displaced inside the country, and 300,000 Sudanese have sought refuge in neighboring countries.
