The Palestinian ambassador’s warning to London about the possible transfer of the British embassy from Tel Aviv to Quds

Pak Sahafat – The Palestinian ambassador in London warned the British government that any decision to move the country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a serious violation of international law.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, The Eram News website of the United Arab Emirates quoted Hossam Zamlat, the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, as saying that it is very regrettable that British Prime Minister Liz Truss, in her first appearance at the United Nations, promised to review the location of the British embassy in the occupied territories in violation of the laws.

He wrote on his Twitter page that any relocation of the embassy in the occupied territories is a clear violation of international laws and the historical responsibilities will be borne by England.

This Palestinian diplomat warned that moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem would weaken the two-state solution and fuel the fragile situation in Jerusalem and other occupied territories.

Zamlat stated that such a promise is immoral, illegal and irresponsible.

The British media reported London’s desire to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem

The British government announced in a statement last Wednesday that in a meeting with his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Liz Truss spoke about London’s intention to review the current headquarters of the British Embassy in the occupied territories.

Israeli Prime Minister Lapid also wrote on Twitter yesterday Thursday: I would like to thank my dear friend Liz Truss, the Prime Minister of England, who announced his positive opinion about moving the country’s embassy to Jerusalem.

According to Eram News, if “Trace” fulfills its plan, it will follow the path of “Donald Trump”, the former president of the United States, who in 2018 decided to move his country’s embassy from “Tel Aviv” to Jerusalem in a controversial move.

On that day, in an unprecedented move, Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist regime, which angered Palestinians and other Muslims around the world.

The vast majority of countries have refused to transfer their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem because they do not recognize the occupation of the eastern part of Jerusalem by the Israeli regime and consider it illegal.

The criminal Israeli regime occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in 1967 and then announced that it had annexed the eastern part of Jerusalem to the occupied territories, a decision not recognized by the majority of the international community.
