The Israeli Minister of War avoided responding to the attack on the Iranian ship

The Israeli Minister of War, threatening to answer a question about the regime’s attack on the Iranian ship “Saviz”, posed threats against the Islamic Republic.

Israeli War Minister Benny Gantz today (Wednesday) indirectly threatened the Islamic Republic of Iran by answering a question about the regime’s attack on the Iranian ship “Saviz” in the Red Sea.

Reports indicate that Gantz, in response to a question about the Israeli attack on the Iranian ship Saviz, refused to comment on it and said in general: “The Israeli government must defend itself. We will act wherever we face an operational challenge or an operational need.”

Earlier, the New York Times reported that an Iranian ship had been hit by a landmine as a result of an Israeli operation using a naval mine, citing the silence of Israeli officials regarding the attack on the Saviz ship.

Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said today: “An Iranian merchant ship named Saviz was slightly damaged in the Red Sea off the coast of Djibouti on Tuesday, April 26, at around 6:00 AM local time due to an explosion whose origin and formation are under investigation.”

Khatibzadeh further explained: “According to a previous official announcement and coordination with the International Maritime Organization as the reference body, the Saviz civilian ship was stationed in the Red Sea region and the Gulf of Aden to provide maritime security along the shipping lanes and to counter piracy. This ship practically acts as a logistics station (technical support and logistics) of Iran in the Red Sea, so the specifications and mission of this ship had previously been officially announced to that organization.”

He also added: “Fortunately, no casualties were reported as a result of the accident, and technical investigations are underway into how the accident happened and its origin, and our country will take all necessary measures through international authorities.”
