Pak Sahafat – The United States is now in the fourth wave of the corona, according to official figures. But experts say the real death toll in the country is so high that officials have declined to comment.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from the Guardian, The United States registers an average of about 94,000 new Corona cases each day, and the number of hospitalizations has risen since April, although this is much lower than previous peaks.
But a preliminary study of the latest wave of infectious disease in New York City shows that cases of Covid 19 in this city are much less reported.
Dennis Nash, the study’s author and a distinguished professor of epidemiology at City New University, says: Official reports from US officials seem to estimate the actual incidence of the disease about 30 times lower, which is very surprising.
According to the study, about one in five New York adults (22%) were probably infected with the Covid virus between May 3 and 18. This means that 1.5 million adults have been infected in the city over a two-week period; a number that is much higher than the official statistics at the time.
Although the study focused on New York, the findings may be true across the United States, Nash said. In fact, New Yorkers have better access to health care than most parts of the country, which would mean that the difference between actual and reported statistics could be even greater.

He acknowledged: These statistics are very worrying. In my opinion, this means that our government’s ability to truly understand and overcome the coronavirus is very weak.
According to experts, this statistical gap could be the reason why many Americans do not realize that their country is currently in the midst of a crisis.
A number of independent US researchers conducted a similar study after the first wave of the Omicron strain, estimating that about 1.8 million American adults may have had coronary arteries between January 11 and late April. Nash said the estimate was about three to four times higher than the number of official cases at the time.
Experts say it is more difficult to protect against a corona without providing real statistics.
Nash said: We do not have really good control over what happens to Corona. That is why the American people cannot decide what they ought to do.
He added that US local and national public health officials need to provide a “better picture of the coronation situation” so that people can make more informed decisions.
