Pak Sahafat – The concern of the American people about the occurrence of crime has reached its highest level since 2016; the majority of respondents to a poll (57%) is extremely concerned about this and about 27%, and considers this as one of the 14 national concerns and after inflation and economic issues in a rank with hunger and homelessness.

According to Pak Sahafat News agency report on Thursday from the Gallup information base, the Gallup polling institute has been tracking Americans’ concerns about crime since 2001 with a poll. There was the highest level of concern at the time, with 88% of respondents to the survey expressing concern about crime, while 62% were deeply concerned. Concerns about crime fell to a minimum in 2014, with 70 percent worried and 39 percent extremely worried.

The latest opinion poll, conducted from March 1 to March 18, is almost in line with the findings of a poll last fall, which showed Americans’ growing concern about a wide range of crimes as well as the escalation of crime in their area. Government crime data also show an increase in homicides to its highest level in 25 years.

Of course, the level of concern varies based on gender, age, place of residence and political affiliation. The majority of women, Republicans and independents close to Republicans and people in their 30s and older are very concerned about crime, while less than half of those polled; That is, pro-Democrat and pro-Democratic independent men between the ages of 18 and 29 have expressed the same concern.

Living space also contributes to Americans’ concern about crime, with urban residents expressing the highest rate (58%) of this concern, 46% among people living in the suburbs and 46% in rural areas.

Women have always, in all opinion polls, been more concerned than men for 21 years, and the differences have been relatively different in the other subgroups. Democrat supporters were generally more concerned about this than Republican supporters from 2001 to 2012. But for the first time since 2016 and 2017, Republicans have become more concerned about Democrats.
