The first meeting between the US Secretary of State and the head of the Palestinian Authority

The US Secretary of State discussed the situation in Palestine by telephone with the head of the Palestinian Authority.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken telephoned Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the situation in Palestine.

This is the first contact between US Secretary of State Joe Biden and the head of the Palestinian Authority.

Palestine News Agency (Wafa) reported that Abbas received a phone call from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the two sides reviewed the latest developments in Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank.

In this phone call, Abbas called for an end to the Zionist regime’s aggression against the Palestinian people everywhere and to prevent the aggression of the settlers and the Zionist regime’s aggression against the Palestinian nation.

He also stressed the importance of achieving a political solution based on the principle of international legitimacy and ensuring the end of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, as well as the achievement of freedom and independence for the Palestinian people.

The US Secretary of State also stressed the importance of achieving a ceasefire and an end to the violence, and said that the United States is working with all parties concerned to achieve a ceasefire.

Tensions have escalated in occupied Palestine after Israeli forces attacked the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and worshipers. Palestinians have been protesting since last week over an Israeli court ruling that expelled Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood east of Jerusalem amid Israeli attacks.

The Zionist security cabinet also approved military plans Wednesday evening to increase offensive operations against Hamas and Islamic Jihad resistance movements in Gaza.

The battalions of Izz al-Din al-Qassam, Hamas’ military wing, also launched a new wave of rocket and missile operations against Tel Aviv on Thursday morning in response to the bombing of civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced today (Thursday) in a statement that 83 people have been killed so far in Israeli airstrikes in the region.
