The representative of the UAE in the United Nations emphasized: In this month in 1993, the Secretary General opened the signature window for the signing of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in Paris, and 130 countries signed this treaty, and this is proof of the international consensus about this treaty, and this treaty is one of the most important historical achievements in the field. It is considered disarmament, but today the chemical case in Syria is unfortunately still one of the political cases in this Security Council, and we have noticed this.

In the meeting of the Security Council regarding the chemical case in Syria, Nasiba added: The United Arab Emirates has repeatedly condemned the use of chemical weapons in any place and time, by anyone and in any situation, because the use of these weapons is a clear violation of the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention and It is international law.

Referring to the concrete progress in the Syrian chemical case, the representative of the UAE at the United Nations called on all parties to have a constructive dialogue.

This is while the UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his accompanying delegation met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad last Wednesday, and during the meeting, the relations between the two countries and the development of economic and trade relations were emphasized.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad considered the relations between Syria and the UAE to be historic and pointed to the positive role of this country in the Arab world.
