Pak Sahafat – “Bassam Sabbagh”, the representative of Syria, said on Tuesday local time at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council, which was held on the situation in the Middle East and Palestine, that the Zionist regime is the only reason for the continued suffering of the Palestinian people.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from the official Syrian news agency (SANA), Sabbagh, the representative of Syria in the United Nations, said while reading the message of the Foreign Minister of this country, Faisal al-Maqdad, to the Security Council meeting: It is unfortunate that the Security Council does not take action to stop the crimes of the occupying Israeli regime and supports this regime.
He added: Syria strongly condemns the attacks of Israeli occupation forces (regime) on Al-Aqsa Mosque and regrets the continued silence of the international community regarding the occupations’ crimes with the aim of igniting the region and pushing it to higher levels of tension and instability.
The representative of Syria added that the repeated crises of the occupying regime have led its failed leaders to export these crises by attacking the Palestinian people and Syrian lands and continuing the approach of the law of force and the law of the jungle.

Sabbagh said: It is unfortunate that some equate the killer with the victim and the occupying power with the nation under occupation and deprived of its most basic rights, such as the right to life, and then ask the parties to exercise maximum restraint.
The representative of Syria added: Israel’s (regime) is the only reason for the continuation of the tragedy of the Palestinian people, which drove them out of their land by killing, committing crimes, intimidation, seizing property and destroying their homes, and turned them into refugees scattered in different parts of the world.
He said: The crimes of the occupying Israeli regime in occupied Palestine and in the occupied Syrian Golan, including arrests, killings, displacement and the expansion of settlements, are gross violations of international and humanitarian laws.
Earlier, Riyad Al-Maliki, the Foreign Minister of the Palestinian Authority, said at the United Nations Security Council meeting on the Middle East and Palestine on Tuesday that the time has come to end the occupation of the Zionist regime.
Thor Vansland, the special coordinator of the United Nations in the Middle East peace process, expressed serious concern about the destruction and confiscation of property belonging to the Palestinians in the meeting of the Security Council.
