Ramallah protests against the words of the US Ambassador to the Zionist regime

The Palestinian Authority’s State Department said in a statement that it would prosecute US Ambassador David Friedman to Tel Aviv.

The Palestinian Authority’s State Department has called for legal action in response to remarks by US Ambassador to Tel Aviv David Friedman about the recognition of the “David Town” settlement project in the center of occupied Jerusalem.

The statement said that all of East Jerusalem, including the old part and the town of Salwan, are all Palestinian territories that have been under Israeli occupation since 1967, and East Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the statement said that “Friedman’s statements are a clear violation of international law, resolutions and diplomatic practice, and this case will be pursued in international courts with the cooperation of legal experts and relevant institutions to investigate the possibility of reprimanding and punishing Friedman.”

Noting that Friedman’s mission as US ambassador is coming to an end, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry stressed that Friedman’s statements about recognizing the Zionist settlement are illegal and false.

On Monday, Friedman reiterated US support for a project to build a Zionist settlement in central Jerusalem and south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, known as the Town of David.
