Palestine called for serious UN action to end the Israeli occupation

Palestine called on the UN General Assembly to take responsible and serious steps to end the nearly 74 years of Israeli occupation of the land.

According to the Palestine Information Center on Wednesday, Fada’a Abdul Hadi Nasser, the Palestinian observer representative to the United Nations, said that the solution to the current unrest in the occupied territories is to hold the Zionist regime accountable and protect the rights of the Palestinian people.

Nasser added that the outbreak of Corona has worsened the situation in the occupied territories, as the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is now very dangerous.

He noted that messages had been sent to the Security Council, the UN General Assembly and the UN Secretary-General regarding the escalation of aggression and crimes committed by the Zionist regime and Israeli settlers against the Palestinians.

The Palestinian official stated that the killing of Palestinian children, in particular, has become a routine and daily act for the Israeli military, and that the impunity of the killers encourages them to commit more crimes.

Abdul Hadi Nasser’s sacrifice also referred to the confiscation of Palestinian property and lands, their destruction and displacement, most recently in the Sheikh Jarrah and Salwan neighborhoods in occupied Jerusalem, where dozens of Palestinian families are now at risk of displacement and destruction of their homes.

Nasser added that the martyrdom and wounding of a large number of Palestinians in the town of Bita, south of Nablus, shows the height of violence perpetrated by the Zionist military and settlers against the residents of the area.

He also referred to the Zionist enemy’s aggression against the holy shrines of Jerusalem, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque, the continuing siege of Gaza and the use of excessive force and violence to suppress the Palestinians, as a result of which dozens of people, including many children, were injured.
