Pakistan called the increase in military cooperation between the United States and India alarming

Pak Sahafat – Pakistan criticized the joint statement of the heads of the US and India demanding Islamabad to deal effectively against terrorism, and also expressed concern about the increase in their military cooperation.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, the spokesperson’s office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan issued a statement and announced that the country considers the specific reference to Pakistan in the joint statement of the United States and India to be unjustified, a one-sided and misleading judgment.

It is stated in this statement: The statement of the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of India is contrary to diplomatic standards and has a political flavor. Islamabad is surprised that despite close cooperation with Washington in the fight against terrorism, it was added to this statement.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan added that this country has made unique sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. But on the other hand, the joint statement of the US and India shows that the spirit of cooperation, which is so necessary to defeat the scourge of terrorism, has fallen victim to geopolitical considerations.

Pakistan also expressed deep concern over the increase in military cooperation between the United States and India, including the transfer of advanced war technologies to the subcontinent, and considered this action detrimental to peace and stability in South Asia.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif wrote on his official account on Twitter that Islamabad has suffered heavy human losses by joining the war against terrorism and America’s failed interventions in the region.

He accused the Prime Minister of India of suppressing the Muslims of this country and wrote: The demand of the leaders of America and India is funny when the current Prime Minister of India was banned from entering the United States when he was the Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat and because of violence against Muslims.

During the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Washington and his official meeting with US President Joe Biden, both sides issued a joint statement, in part of which, Washington and New Delhi demanded from Islamabad to take serious and effective measures to deal with terrorism and extremism.
