Nikki Haley: American politicians should know when to leave the stage

Pak Sahafat – US Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley mentioned the recent “long pauses” of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell during her speech and called them “sad” and warned that American politicians should know when the stage is over.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Friday night from “New York Post”, 51-year-old Haley told Fox News that the oldest Republican politician in the Senate has served admirably, but the time has come for McConnell, 81, and other senior politicians, including Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), 90, and Biden, 80, to step down.

The former governor of South Carolina and the former US ambassador to the United Nations told the host of Fox News: “It’s sad to see McConnell’s condition. No one should feel good about it. “Nor should we feel good about Dianne Feinstein’s situation or Joe Biden’s decline.”

Currently, the Senate is a retirement home for influential people in the country, Haley added. I mean, Mitch McConnell has done great things and deserves credit. But you have to know when to leave the scene.

Haley has repeatedly floated the idea of testing mental fitness for presidential candidates over the age of 75, which includes both Biden and former US President Donald Trump, who turned 77 in June.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s long pause in a news conference once again fueled concerns about her health and that of other aging leaders.

McConnell was answering questions from reporters at a news conference in Kentucky on Wednesday when she fell silent for 30 seconds and could not speak.

Shortly after, McConnell’s spokesman said: “During the press conference, she became dizzy for a few moments and paused.”
