Three people were killed and at least three others were injured in a shooting at a bowling alley in Rockford, Illinois.
The shooting happened before 7pm local time, according to the Rockford Police Department.
A 37-year-old white suspect has been arrested in connection with the case, according to IBC News.
Rockford Police Chief Dan Oshii said: When the officers arrived at the scene, the shooter was still inside the building. No shots were fired by the police, but the person thought to be the perpetrator, and the only one we think so far involved, may be in custody.
Oshi added that police believe the shooting was accidental and blind, and that at least two teenagers were shot. He declined to give further details about the victims.
According to police, a number of victims were shot outside the building and some inside.
Rockford is one of the largest cities in Illinois, about 90 minutes from Chicago, another city in the state.
