Pak Sahafat – One of the most important streets of the capital of Colombia was named “Palestine” by the majority of council members.
According to the Pak Sahafat news agency, quoted by the Palestine Al-Yum news site, the municipal council of Bogota, the capital of Colombia, decided by an overwhelming majority to name one of the important streets of this city after Palestine.
According to this report, the proposed plan was presented in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority several times over the years until it was presented in the fifth committee last year and won the majority. This proposal was discussed at the level of the general meeting and with the support of the representative parties in the Council, it won the overwhelming majority of votes.
Ana Teresa Bernal, representing the humanitarian organization of Colombia, explained that this project is the recognition of Palestine as an independent country and nation and its right to live.
Meanwhile, the Zionist lobby tried hard to thwart this proposal and claimed that some Jewish residents live on the same street, which affects their psyche negatively!
Rauf Al-Maliki, the Palestinian ambassador in Colombia, expressed his happiness at the approval of this plan, which was the result of many efforts in successive councils: As a result of the struggles of its people and the tireless efforts of its representatives in different regions of the world, Palestine occupies a suitable position in the heart of the capital of Colombia. This action is a great declaration of solidarity, which shows that the cause of Palestine enjoys it in Colombia and the world.
