Muqtada al-Sadr: We will never allow normalization of relations with the Zionists

The leader of the Sadr faction in Iraq said that the occupying United States should leave Iraq through diplomacy and parliament, and that he would never allow the normalization of relations between Baghdad and Tel Aviv.

Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadr faction in Iraq, stressed on Wednesday that the authority of the Iraqi government must be maintained.

During a press conference, Sadr said that this authority should not be undermined and that all countries should respect this issue.

Regarding the presence of US occupying forces, he said that “the occupier must leave through diplomatic and parliamentary means so that Iraq does not become a place for international and regional conflicts.”

After the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, deputy head of the Iraqi People’s Mobilization Organization, the decision to expel foreign troops from Iraq was approved last year.

The resolution, which has been passed for more than a year, has not yet been implemented; because the United States has prevented the implementation of this resolution through its presence in Iraq.

In another part of the meeting, Sadr addressed the issue of normalization of relations with the Zionist regime: “Parliament must prevent this from happening. “We will never allow relations to be normalized, even if we give blood for it.”

He clarified about the encroachment on the security forces of this country: “I will not remain silent in the face of these attacks on my brothers in the army, police and other security forces. “Several people were killed and wounded … The security forces do not support the corrupt.”

The leader of the Sadr faction, while announcing his support for the “reformist demonstrations”, noted that holding such demonstrations is conditional on peace.
