Moscow: America should worry about its human rights issues

Pak Sahafat – In a statement addressed to the American officials, the Russian Embassy wrote: Instead of blaming countries on the excuse of human rights weaknesses, pay attention to the protection of these rights in your own country.

According to the Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from TASS news agency, the statement of this embassy states: The American side has made new anti-Russian statements; This time, we have been accused of neglecting human rights after a Moscow court ordered the dissolution of the Helsinki Group and “undesirable” designation of some other civil society organizations.

The Embassy of Moscow in America emphasized: Instead of blaming others for neglecting democratic freedoms and interfering in their internal affairs, Americans should be concerned about the human rights situation in their country.

According to this statement, the independence of the judiciary is one of the principles of the Russian Constitution. Thus, in this country “courts are not governed by anyone’s will and are subject only to the law in making decisions”.

The Moscow Helsinki Group, which is an international human rights watchdog organization, started its activities in Russia in 1976. On January 25, 2023, the Moscow City Court ordered the dissolution of the group due to its activities outside the designated area, which drew reactions from American and European human rights groups.

Meanwhile, following the death of another black person in America due to the brutality of the police in this country and his beating, last night the streets of America were the scene of people protesting.

In the video released of this crime, on January 7, 2023, Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old FedEx worker, was assaulted and beaten by officers for three minutes. He died in the hospital three days later on January 10 due to the severity of his injuries. The five accused officers have since been fired and charged with second degree murder.
