Maidan Wardak province west of Kabul came under Taliban control

Afghan news sources reported that government forces evacuated Maidan Shahr, the capital of Maidan Wardak province, 25 km west of Kabul, and handed it over to the Taliban.

The arrival of government forces who entered Kabul from Wardak Square has caused fear and panic among the people about the possible entry of the Taliban into Kabul.

It is also reported from Bamyan province in central Afghanistan that local government officials have left Bamyan province.

According to the report, Taliban forces are currently not present near Bamyan, and the power vacuum has led to looting of public property.

Currently, only Parwan, Panjshir and Kapisa provinces are under government control.
