A female soldier has been raped in the French presidential palace (Elysee).
The Liberation newspaper reported that the young female soldier went to the police station and filed a complaint.
The incident, described by the French media as a “scandal for the Republic”, took place on the sidelines of a celebration at the Elysee Palace on July 1, 2021, after drinking alcohol.

The French judiciary has announced that an investigation has been launched into the rape.
According to the French press, there are 800 people in the Elysee Palace, including military and security forces and regular staff.
