Israeli Foreign Minister’s plane passes over Saudi Arabia / is the normalization of Riyadh-Tel Aviv on the way?

The flight of the new Israeli Foreign Minister’s plane from the skies of Saudi Arabia to the UAE puts an end to some ambiguities about Riyadh’s real position towards Tel Aviv.

According to the Rai Alyoum website, it seems that the celebration of Saudi users in cyberspace regarding the ban on the passage of Zionist regime flights over Saudi Arabia did not last long, or at least its recent action ended the ambiguities regarding Riyadh’s position towards the Zionists.

While Saudi officials claimed support for Palestine during the 12-day war in Gaza and condemned the Israeli aggression in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem, as well as Gaza against the Palestinians, news sources reported that, the plane of Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, who flew to the United Arab Emirates on his first official visit to open the embassy, flew over Saudi Arabia in continuation of Riyadh’s decision to allow Israeli planes to pass through Saudi airspace.

Sources reported that while relations between Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime have not yet taken shape and a normalization agreement similar to what happened between the UAE and Bahrain with the Zionists has not been signed between Riyadh and Tel Aviv, the Israeli Foreign Minister’s plane to travel to the UAE it crossed the Saudi sky.

Zionist users reacted positively to the news, celebrating the passage of the Israeli Foreign Minister’s plane over Saudi airspace. In this regard, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan recently said that the normalization of relations with Israel could bring great benefits to the region; but concluding a normalization agreement between the two sides depends on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

The official account of the Zionist regime was written in Arabic in response to the passing of the Yair Lapid plane over Saudi Arabia that, this is a historic moment, and the Israeli Al-Aal plane, carrying Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, flew from Saudi Arabia to the UAE on its first official voyage.

During the last two days, the new Israeli Foreign Minister opened the Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi during a visit to the UAE. The Israeli consulate in Dubai opened yesterday in a ceremony.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) issued a statement reacting to the opening of the Israeli embassy in the UAE, telling the Emirati people that the opening of the embassy meant support for the occupying regime and hostility to the Palestinians.

Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv have established direct flights and exchanged ambassadors since the normalization of relations in September 2020 with the support of the administration of former US President Donald Trump.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was scheduled to travel to Abu Dhabi last March, but the trip was canceled due to a dispute with Jordan and because the plane carrying Benjamin Netanyahu had to fly over Jordan.
