Insulting Charlie Hebdo and the cock’s tail of freedom of expression in the West

Pak Sahafat – The satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo”, which had previously tried to advance the project of Islamophobia by insulting the sacred space of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), has now put the project of Iranophobia on the agenda by insulting the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei. An action in the name of freedom of speech, which is a function of political lobbying and ideological goals.

When the name of the French humor magazine “Charlie Hebdo” comes to mind, concepts such as “humiliation”, “insult” and “defamation” immediately come to mind, which are used against people and their beliefs in the name of freedom of expression.

Recently, Charlie Hebdo organized a contest with the aim of publishing cartoons offensive to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, which drew a lot of criticism to this publication, as well as the policy of the West, especially France, to the extent that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran responded to this Mohan’s action summoned the French ambassador, Nicolas Roche.

Charlie Hebdo’s black history with insulting the Prophet of Islam (PBUH)

More than one billion Muslims in the world still haven’t forgotten the story of Charlie Hebdo’s insult to the holy place of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the Holy Quran and the religion of Islam in 2015.

When Charlie Hebdo started publishing offensive cartoons against the great prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the sacredness of Muslims, not only the governments claiming freedom of speech did not condemn the French publication, but they also supported it. An action that showed that valuable concepts such as freedom of expression and human rights are only a means to advance the wrong approaches of European and Western governments, and in practice, as long as their values are not attacked, they use this tactic against other religions, nations and countries.

The idea of the West playing with freedom of speech and this double standard was to create and increase hatred and disgust with Muslims and the Islamic world. As a result, 12 members of this editorial were killed by two armed men and 10 others were injured.

Of course, since then, Charlie Hebdo has gained world fame and its cartoons have attracted the attention of the media and public opinion of the world. Of course, gaining fame can also be one of the reasons for committing defamation and accusations.

Obvious insult to the Quran, under the pretext of freedom of speech?!

In the science of law, there is a golden principle that says “a person is free as long as he does not harm the freedom of others”; When Charlie Hebdo and its representatives in governments and organizations say that their freedom has no boundaries, they have completely left the right circle and entered the circle of crime, and that is when they allow themselves to violate the rights and sanctities of others.

Now this question comes to mind, why freedom of speech does not include the Holocaust, and insults and humiliation are only related to Muslims and the Islamic religion, and Judaism is an exception to this rule?

Judaism and the Holocaust; The red line of Western freedom of expression

In 2009, Maurice Siné, the cartoonist of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo, had to submit his resignation. The reason for his resignation was that this cartoonist criticized the marriage of John Sarkozy, the son of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, with Jessica Darty, a Jewish girl who came from a rich family and converted to Judaism with the motivation of money.

Maurice Sine’s criticism was not against Judaism and he had not insulted this religion in any way, but only referring to Judaism was enough for him to be accused of being hostile to this religion and to be handed over to the judicial authorities and dismissed from his job. At that time, Charlie Hebdo magazine did not defend its employee and did not try to justify his work with the lie of “freedom of expression”.

After that, the same publication published an offensive cartoon against the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), which provoked the anger of Muslims all over the world. This magazine justified the publication of offensive cartoons under the pretext of “freedom of expression”.

The most obvious example of violation in this regard goes back to the famous story of “Roje Garodi”. In 1998, a French court found Garoudi guilty of Holocaust denial and racial slander and fined 120,000 French francs (40 thousand dollars) fined.

Accepting the views of Holocaust deniers, Holocaust denier historian Robert Farrison reveals that Jews were not killed in gas chambers during the Holocaust. In 2006, Farison was sentenced to three months in prison and fined 7,500 euros for denying the Holocaust, due to an interview he gave to Sahar 1 in 2005.

Therefore, Westerners call insulting the leaders of countries such as the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) with more than a billion followers as an example of freedom of speech, while they themselves have criminalized the denial and even doubt of the Holocaust in many countries, and with every those who say or write anything about this other than the official reading, will face the most severe attacks.
