Member of US House of Representative Ilhan Omar calls on Republican leaders to work to combat hate speech against Muslims
According to the Pak Sahafat news agency, Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from the US House of Representatives in the US House of Representatives, sent a threatening voice message to him, urging Republican leaders to work to combat hate speech against Muslims. He also called on Republicans to hold those who exacerbate the situation responsible for the consequences.
Ms. Omar, one of the few Muslim lawmakers in the US Congress, has been repeatedly attacked by conservative analysts and a number of Republicans in Congress, and she believes their behavior has increased the number of death threats he sends.
In the latest of these clashes, Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Bubert introduced Ms. Omar as a member of a “jihadist group” in a video message, likening her to a terrorist carrying a bomb.

Ilhan Omar said in this regard during a press conference: “When a current member of Congress introduces a colleague as a member of a jihadist group and uses lies to incite the explosion of Congress into my hands, it is not just an attack on me, but an attack on millions of Muslims in the country. Â We cannot pretend that this disgusting speech by senior politicians has no real consequences.”
She then released her latest death threatening audio message, saying she had received hundreds of them since attending Congress.
Ms. Omar added: The message was sent to her after the release of Lauren Bubert’s video on Monday.
Omar concluded: “The time has come for the Republican Party to really do something about countering hatred against Islam among its members and holding those responsible for the situation accountable.”
