Pak Sahafat- the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that without a fair distribution of vaccines around the world, there could be a risk of developing strains of the Covid 19 vaccine.
According to Pak Sahafat, “Antonio Guterres told the United Nations website yesterday: At that time, neither the poor nor the rich, and even countries whose entire population has been vaccinated, will not be safe.
He added: We need a global vaccination program, and we need to be able to bring together all potential and actual vaccine manufacturers and distribute the vaccines fairly after doubling production.
The Portuguese diplomat stressed that priority should be given to universal vaccination in all parts of the world, meaning that seventy percent of people in all countries should be vaccinated, “not one percent in one place and 20 percent in another.”
Guterres said: A virus has defeated the world. More than a year and a half after the corona outbreak, the virus is still spreading everywhere. We are witnessing the tremendous impact of the virus on the lives of the people, the dramatic increase in inequalities, the severe economic turmoil in the countries and, of course, the extreme hardship for the most vulnerable classes.
The UN Secretary-General said: The problem is that the World Health Organization does not even have the power to obtain information about the current situation and to investigate the roots of the disease.
Guterres has previously said that the corona has exposed the fragility of communities and that we need to at least double vaccine production to counter it.
He said: We are in a period when the fragility of our societies and planets has been revealed. A microscopic virus has so far claimed about four million lives and devastated the economies of all the countries of the world.
“We are still not sure we can defeat the virus,” the Portuguese diplomat said. We are in an unjust situation. The corona virus is spreading like wildfire, and the sad thing is that new mutations may affect our performance; Therefore, solidarity is necessary at this time.
