Gunmen abduct more than 100 students in Nigeria

Gunmen stormed a school in northern Nigeria and abducted 100 students and dozens of teachers, news sources reported Wednesday night.

According to Pak Sahafat from Russia Today, at 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday, gunmen attacked a high school in Zamfara state (northwestern Nigeria), local media reported.

According to the report, the assailants started shooting after entering the school and kidnapped more than 100 students and dozens of teachers.

Since the beginning of December 2020, more than 1,100 students have been abducted from schools and universities in northwestern Nigeria.

Armed extremist groups abduct people, students and students in northern Nigeria to extort money.

Armed robberies and kidnappings have increased in Nigeria for ransom, especially in the northwest where security forces are unable to prevent such crimes.
