Fox News claims about the deployment of F-35 fighters in the Middle East

Pak Sahafat – Fox News, citing the US Air Force, claimed that an air battalion of F-35 Azarakhsh 2 fighters of the US Air Force has arrived in the Middle East to reinforce the A-10 and F-16 fighters in their mission to patrol the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Fox News claimed that this air battalion consisting of American F-35 fighters entered the Middle East to deter Iran and help the American forces and its allies in Syria.

According to Fox News, this action comes after several attempts by Iran earlier this month to seize oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, which were met with a response from the US Navy.

Tim Hawkins, the spokesman of the US Navy’s 5th fleet, had previously issued a statement claiming that: the Iranian Navy made efforts to seize commercial oil tankers that were legally crossing international waters, and the US Navy immediately reacted to this and from this Seizures prevented.

In this regard, an American defense official told the Associated Press: The sending of F-35 fighter jets is designed to increase the US military visibility and provide air cover for ships moving in the region.

The press release of the US Air Force, which was published in connection with the arrival of this air battalion, adds pointing out that the F-35 fighters will increase the capacity of the US Air Force in the region: These fighters will also be available to assist US and allied forces in Syria during ongoing operations against ISIS.

The statement claimed: The deployment of the F-35 fighter battalion demonstrates the commitment of the United States to ensure peace and security in the region through maritime support and support the coalition’s sustained mission to defeat ISIS in Syria.

Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh claimed to send more American fighters to the Middle East and said: The US will send F-35 and F-16 fighter jets along with a warship to the Middle East as the Pentagon seeks to increase its presence and ability to monitor the Strait of Hormuz and its surrounding waters.

Also, a senior US defense official said on Friday, July 23, that the US is strengthening the presence and use of its fighters around the strategic Strait of Hormuz to protect ships that pass through this area.

In addition, the defense official told reporters that the United States is considering a number of military options to counter Russia’s increasing aggression in Syrian skies, which complicated efforts to strike an ISIS leader last weekend.

The official declined to elaborate on the options, but said the United States would not cede any territory and would continue to fly missions over the western part of Syria.
