Flights to Riyadh Airport are suspended

Flights to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, have been suspended following a missile launch that Saudi officials say was fired from Yemen.

According to Al-Jazeera, following the announcement of the missile interception in the skies of Riyadh, several planes have changed their route to the Dammam airport in Saudi Arabia and the operation of Riyadh airport has been suspended.

Al-Jazeera added that the Riyadh airport website reported delays in the arrival of many flights, without saying whether this was a matter of trying to target the city.

The Flight Radar website indicated that navigation at Riyadh Airport had been suspended and flights are being diverted to Dammam Airport.

According to the website, the two planes approached the airspace of Riyadh Airport but did not land and were circling nearby.

Witnesses also said Riyadh airport delayed flights without giving a reason.

While Saudi Arabia accuses Ansarullah of carrying out the attack, the Yemeni National Salvation Government has not yet responded.
