The Washington Post quoted some US officials as saying that Russia planned to deliver an advanced satellite system called Canopus to Iran to track possible military targets in the Middle East and beyond.
The Washington Post added: The Canopus satellite system allows Iran to continuously monitor Middle East oil facilities and Israeli and US military bases in the region.
The Washington Post stressed that the satellite could be launched in a few months.
